Summary
The Salve Regina University women's ice hockey team scored four unanswered goals to claim a 5-2 victory over visiting New England College in the final game of the regular season.

Senior Moment
Tonight's game was Senior Night for the Seahawks who honored their four seniors. Amanda CroninBriana D'Avolio (Reading, Mass.)Courtney Moulton (Merrimack, N.H.), and Brooke Morgan (Grantham, N.H.) were all joined by their families on the ice and honored with a special pregame ceremony for their final home game of their Salve Regina careers.

Series and Streaks
This was the 28th meeting between the teams. The Pilgrims still hold a 13-12-3 record in the all-time series however the Seahawks have won seven in a row and eight of the last nine meetings.

Three Stars of the Game
1 - Salve Regina senior Amanda Cronin (Medfield, Mass.) - scored twice as she continues her best year scoring the puck in her senior campaign.
2 - Salve Regina sophomore Taylor Chisholm (Discovery Bay, Calif.) - scored back-to-back goals in the third period to break a 2-2 tie.
3 - Salve Regina freshman Abbey Weisrock (Hartland, Wisc.) - made a relief appearance for the final six minutes of the game and recorded nine saves including several spectacular stops while facing four straight minutes against the Pilgrim powerplay.

Turning Point
After a wild, back and forth first period, neither team netted a goal in the second period so the game was tied 2-2 heading into the third period. The Seahawks came out strong to start the period and five minutes in Taylor Chisholm found herself alone at center with the puck. She accelerated down the left side and snapped a wrister past Pilgrims netminder Ashley Castriotta (Framingham, Mass.) to break the deadlock and give the Seahawks their first lead. The Seahawks kept the pressure up as they began to wear down the Pilgrims. Four minutes later the Pilgrims couldn't clear a puck from their zone and Chisholm jumped into the slot and fired and the puck towards the net. With so much action in front Castriotta couldn't find the puck until in had gone past her and into the goal, giving the Seahawks a two goal lead and control of the game.
