Seahawks can't get over the hump versus Camels

NEW LONDON, Conn.—Freshman Lauren Helm (Frisco, Texas) scored goals in each of the first two periods to lead the #9/#8 ranked Connecticut College women's hockey team to 4-2 victory against Salve Regina University at Dayton Arena tonight.

After falling behind 2-0 in the contest the Seahawks scored two straight short-handed goals to tie the game. However the Camels would net the next two scores to walk away with the win.
Jordan Cross (Saugus, Mass.) and Kyla Floresca (West Memphis, Ark.) chipped in with scores for the Camels.
Connecticut College improved its record to 3-0 with the triumph while the Seahawks fell to 0-9-1 with the loss.
 
Bailey Mertz (Glenville, N.Y.) made 10 saves in the win for the Camels.
Amanda Cronin (Medfield, Mass.) notched her team-leading fifth goal of the season in the loss for the Seahawks. Taylor Chisolm (Discovery Bay, Calif.) potted a second period score.
Sophomore Jennifer O'Connell (Marstons Mills, Mass.) made 47 saves in the setback.
Connecticut College out-shot the Seahawks 51-to-12 in the contest.
