Three Stars of the Game
1 – Neumann sophomore Bek Lucas (Feasterville, Pa.) scored to tie the game in the third and helped set up the overtime game-winner.
2 – Salve Regina sophomore Meredith Peppes (Lincoln, R.I.) scored her first goal of the season to begin the game. It was also the only powerplay goal of the game.
3 – Neumann senior Justina Mayr (New Westminister, British Columbia) stopped 28 shots to earn her second victory of the season.
Key Stat of the Game
The Seahawks were 1-6 on the powerplay, only mustering six shots in those six chances, while twice not recording a shot on net with the man advantage.
Turning Point
The Seahawks went on a power-play 1:59 into the overtime period looking to bookend the game with powerplay goals. Nearly a minute later the Knights sent the puck down on a clear and Bek Lucas beat everyone down the ice for the puck. Circling behind the net and out to the wing she whipped a pass to Jackie Schneider (Hollan, Pa.) and the freshman buried the shorthanded game-winner to stun the Seahawks.
