Hartford, Conn. - Playing at home for the first time in 2015, the Trinity College women's hockey team blanked visiting Salve Regina, 4-0, on Tuesday evening in non-conference action on Williams Rink inside the Koeppel Community Sports Center.

With the win, the Bantams remained perfect in out-of-league contests to improve to 7-3-1 overall, while the Seahawks moved to 4-6-1 on the year following the defeat.

The Trinity line of junior forward Cheeky Herr (Princeton, N.J.), senior tri-captain Lucy Robinson (Toronto, Ontario) and first-year forward Hannah Oganeku (Castle Pines, Colo.) were dominant, combining for all four goals and six assists. Herr had her third multi-goal game of the season to pace the Trinity attack, while Oganeku potted her first two collegiate markers to go along with a pair of assists.

Bantam sophomore netminder Claudia Escue (Carbondale, Colo.) made 20 saves to record her first career shutout. On the opposite end, sophomore Colleen Marcik turned aside 39 shots in a losing effort for Salve Regina.

The hosts controlled the tempo early, outshooting Salve Regina, 18-3, in the first period. Late in the opening stanza, Herr netted her first tally. The marker came off nice passing in front of the net by Robinson and Oganeku and would prove to be the game winner.

A little over 14 minutes into the second period, Herr gave the Bantams a little breathing room to make it 2-0 as she scored her team-leading 10 goal of the season.

Less than a minute into the third, Oganeku fired a slap shot from just inside the blueline that beat Marcik high stick side as Trinity built its lead to three. Oganeku wasn't done as later in the final period she added an insurance goal to cap the scoring.

Trinity held a 43-20 advantage in shots and neither team was able to breakthrough on their power-play attempts. The Bantams went 0-for-5 with the extra skater and the Seahawks went 0-for-4.

The Seahawks next travel back to Maine to play the University of New England on Friday January 16 at 7 p.m.
