CCC Pitcher of the Week: Andi Nelson

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) has selected Salve Regina University sophomore Andi Nelson (Candia, N.H.) as its softball pitcher of the week (March 4 - 10).

Pitcher of the Week - Nelson was brilliant on opening day for the Seahawks, spinning a no-hitter in a 1-0 victory over Finlandia in Minneola, Fla. In seven innings of work, Nelson struck out 14 batters and walked just three. She retired the first 10 batters she faced, including seven on strikes, while permitting just a trio of one-out walks in the fourth, fifth and seventh innings.

The Seahawks (1-1) return to action Monday in Winter Haven, Fla., against Meredith College and the College of Wooster.
