Salve Regina captures Hawaiian invitational

HONOLULU, Hawaii (January 18) - The Salve Regina sailing team won the Peter Wenner Invitational Regatta in Honolulu, Hawaii, hosted by University of Hawaii on January 17 -18. The field of 14 competing schools came from Japan, British Columbia, as well as Hawaii.

Derrick Sarfo-Darko, Matthew Keyser, and Molly O'Sullivan represented Salve Regina's student-athletes and members of SAAC in delivering the donated food to the Martin Luther King Center.

Sister Esther Regatta features 38 boats at once

NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University sailing program hosted the third annual Sister Esther Whalen Open Regatta which featured two full fleets of 19 boats for 38 in the water at one time. The Seahawks used their 420s and their new FJs, and 18 other schools did as well.

NEWPORT, R.I. - The Seahawks finished in a hard-fought sixth place at the Great Herring Pond Open hosted by Massachusetts Maritime Academy this weekend. Saturday conditions were ideal with clear skies and a steady 15 knot breeze from the southwest.

NEWPORT, R.I. - The Seahawks kicked off the season with a busy weekend sailing at two venues - The Penobscot Bay Open hosted by Maine Maritime Academy, and the Pine Trophy hosted by the Coast Guard Academy.

HYANNIS, Mass. - Last weekend, Michael Komar '08 and crew John Ingalls, sailing coaches from Salve Regina University, competed in the International 5o5 class at the Hyannis Yacht Club's 72nd Regatta for One-Design classes held on July 25, 26, and 27, 2014 in the waters of Nantucket Sound and Lewis Bay.
