Behn leads Seahawks at Western New England

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Shane Behn (Makawao, Hawaii) set the pace for Salve Regina in the Golden Bear Invitational at Western New England University on Saturday. The junior raced to his second-fastest performance at 8,000 meters, crossing the finish line at 30:41.7.

Behn, Voli post PRs at Brown Bear Invitational

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Juniors Shane Behn (Makawao, Hawaii) and Patrick Voli (Bloomingdale, N.J.) raced to personal-best performances at the Brown Bear Invitational on Saturday. It marked the second time this season that the two harriers improved on their PRs for 8,000 meters.

Comprising the Hall of Fame's 14th induction class are six athletes - Kelly Burke '13 (field hockey, lacrosse), Beth Gemma '95 (soccer, basketball), Sarah Jakiela '10 (softball), Ryan Kelly '16 (football, baseball), Brian Walker '09 (lacrosse), Steve Wilken '15 (football) - plus two former coaches and administrators - Trish Cronin and Mick Klitzner.

(September 25, 2022) -- The Salve Regina University Department of Athletics, in conjunction with the Office of Alumni, Parent and Family Programs, has announced the Seahawk Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2022. Comprising the Hall of Fame's 14th induction class are six athletes - Kelly Burke '13 (field hockey, lacrosse), Beth Gemma '95 (soccer, basketball), Sarah Jakiela '10 (softball), Ryan Kelly '16 (football, baseball), Brian Walker '09 (lacrosse), Steve Wilken '15 (football)  - plus two former coaches and administrators - Trish Cronin and Mick Klitzner.

Four harriers race to personal bests at Pop Crowell

WENHAM, Mass. – They might have been one man short of a scoring lineup, but the four harriers who lined up for Salve Regina in the Pop Crowell Invitational took full advantage of the opportunity. All four posted personal-best times for 8,000 meters in the meet on Saturday.

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – Sophomore Ty Gallagher (Goffstown, N.H.) and freshman Dillon Coblentz (Chouteau, Okla.) led the way for Salve Regina at the Smith College Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, finishing just one second apart in the 5K race.

NEWPORT, R.I. – Junior Patrick Voli (Bloomingdale, N.J.) and senior Jake Simpson (Hingham, Mass.) have been appointed captains of the men’s cross country team at Salve Regina.

NEWPORT, R.I. (August 4, 2022) - Jody Mooradian, director of athletics at Salve Regina since January 2016, has announced her retirement in September. Bill Villareal will step away from his head coaching duties of the women’s lacrosse team after eight seasons and will take on additional duties in his new role as acting director of athletics.

Salve Regina University will join the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) as its newest member institution following unanimous support from the NEWMAC Presidents Council. Salve Regina will become the conference's 12th core member effective July 1, 2023 and will begin participating in conference play during the 2023-2024 academic year.
