Irene pushes start date to Wed., Aug. 31

Seahawk men's cross country (shown here during pre-race at last year's Pop Crowell Invitational) will now check-in at noon on Wednesday, August 31 for pre-season due to Hurricane Irene.

NEWPORT, R.I. - With Hurricane Irene set to impact Southern New England this weekend, Salve Regina men's and women's cross country will now report for pre-season check-in at noon on Wednesday, August 31.

The Seahawks were scheduled to arrive on Monday but the storm has changed those plans. Other teams already in pre-season camps include football, field hockey, soccer, tennis, and volleyball.

Salve Regina's emergency preparedness team will continue to monitor Hurricane Irene's progress.
