Seahawks compete at NCAA Regionals

CUMBERLAND, Maine - The Salve Regina University men's cross country team placed 44th at the 2009 NCAA Division III New England Regional Qualifier in Cumberland, Maine.

 

Freshman Tim Merlino (Big Sky, Mont.) led the Seahawks and placed 202nd overall with a time of 29:09.3 on the 8,000 meter course. Junior Ryan Hurley (Barrington, R.I.) was next in 282nd place with a time of 31:52.8, followed by freshman Marc Reid (Marlborough, Mass.) in 285th place with a time of 32:18.8.

 

Other finishers for Salve Regina included freshman Mike Stankus (Cropseyville, N.Y.) in 208th place (35:11.5), freshman Brian Dagliere (North Haven, Conn.) in 313th place (36:01.4), and freshman Grant Olsen (Bay Head, N.J.) in 314th place (36:30.2).
