Lions sweep Seahawks in men's tennis action

NEWPORT, R.I. - Seniors Kevin Brocks (Albany, N.Y.), Will Masse (Wyoming, R.I.), and Zach Monahan (Stoughton, Mass.) played their final regular season weekend home match as Salve Regina University men's tennis fell, 9-0, to visiting Eastern Nazarene College in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action.

The Lions (13-3, 5-1 CCC) swept the doubles matches dropping just six games, and then won six singles matches in straight sets. Masse fought a tight first set before Laurent Ruttkowski held on for a 6-4 decision. Ruttkowski claimed six straight in the second set.

The Seahawks (1-8, 0-4 CCC) are on the road for three matches (at Curry on Monday, at Gordon on Thursday, and at Western New England next Saturday) before finishing regular season on Tuesday, April 24 in Newport against Endicott College.
