NEWPORT, R.I. - Visiting Endicott College men's tennis won three doubles matches against Salve Regina University just as it had done four days ago when hosting four-time defending Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) champion Nichols College. Only this time, the Gulls completed the sweep by claiming all six singles matches in straight sets.

Series and Streaks
Today's Commonwealth Coast Conference dual match marked the 20th meeting between Endicott and Salve Regina. The Seahawks own a 14-6 mark in the all-time series, but have now lost six in a row to the Gulls.

Three Stars of the Match
1 – Endicott sophomore Christopher Kirkpatrick (Newburyport, Mass.) – great baseline and net play at No. 1 doubles from the lefty.
2 – Endicott senior Michael Dolph (Stratford, Conn.) – wins at No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles
3 – Endicott junior Eric Pierce (Barrington, R.I.) – wins at No. 1 singles and No. 2 doubles

Clinching Point
Michael Dolph decided the match with his straight-set win at second singles over Salve Regina freshman D.J. Bisaillon (Watertown, Conn.). Earlier, Dolph had paired with Kirkpatrick at first doubles for an 8-1 score over Bisaillon and sophomore Jack Lawlor (York, Maine).

Quick Hits

  • Salve Regina has won more conference titles (15) than all other CCC schools combined.
  • Nichols is next with seven, followed by a pair apiece for Roger Williams and Wentworth.
  • The Gulls were swept in singles after taking a 3-0 lead in their match with the Bison on Sunday. Dolph, Pierce, and Matthew Doherty each had won an opening set at second, third, and sixth singles, respectively.
  • With sophomore Kevin Brocks (Albany, N.Y.) only able to play doubles in today's match (shoulder), Zach Monahan (Stoughton, Mass.) got the call at sixth singles with the Seahawk lineup moving up.
