After rain delay, Pioneers top Seahawks

Monaf Awwa, Aaron Isch, Kenneth McCormack, and Khoa Nguyen helped dry the courts at Hilton Head Island Motorcoach Resort to prepare for match with Marietta.

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. - Salve Regina University men's tennis endured a five-hour rain delay, squeegeed six courts to prepare for a match with Marietta College, before falling to the Pioneers, 9-0, at Hilton Head Island.

The Seahawks suffered their second defeat to a school from Ohio in the PTR Spring TennisFest on the island.

"Our spirits are high," said Salve Regina head coach Kevin Pease. "Players battled well, and competed in each game."

Salve Regina has two more matches on the island, Thursday at 6:30 p.m. against Methodist University and Friday at 3:30 p.m. against Defiance College.
