WENHAM, Mass. - George Coogan IV and Benji Wright scored seven minutes apart late in the second half to lift Gordon College to a 2-1 victory over the Salve Regina University men's soccer team in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action Saturday evening.
The game was scoreless into the 69th before Kendy Prince burried his first of the year to give Salve Regina the 1-0 edge.
The lead was short-lived as Coogan IV even the score on an unassisted goal in the 71st. Wright headed in his second of the season in the 78th to put the Scots in front for good.
Nathan Reid made five saves in the loss for the Seahawks to fall to 3-1 in net while Gunnar Lucuk also stopped five for the Scots to improve to 1-5-2 on the year.
Salve Regina (5-2-3, 2-1-0) returns to action on Wednesday, October 5, with a non-conference road match versus Bridgewater State at 5 p.m.
