SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (October 28, 2019) - The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) has selected Salve Regina University sophomore James Davies (London, England) as its Defensive Player of the Week for men's soccer (Oct. 21-27).

Defensive Player of the Week - Salve Regina went 2-0 in conference play this week, thanks in part to the defensive efforts of James Davies (London, England). Davies centered a backline that allowed only three shots on-goal over the 180 minutes. In a 7-1 victory over Curry on Wednesday (Oct. 23), Davies and the Salve defense held the Colonels to only two shots on-target. They then bested that later in the week by allowing Gordon only a single shot on frame while shutting the Fighting Scots out, 4-0.

Salve Regina (11-4-3, 5-0-2 CCC) closes the conference regular season hosting Wentworth (9-6-2, 5-2-0 CCC) at Toppa Field on Tuesday (4 p.m.) with first place on the line.
