NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University men's soccer kept its zero in the loss column with a 1-1 final against visiting Gordon College in double-overtime Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at Reynolds Field.

The Seahawks (14-0-3, 5-0-2 CCC) scored in the first half. At 19:41 elapsed, sophomore Owen Stevenson (Middletown, Conn.) converted a one-touch feed from senior Conor Woods (Otisville, N.Y.), who had exchanged a give-and-go with junior Evan MacDonald (Candia, N.H.).

Salve Regina had the 1-0 advantage into the 82nd minute until senior Ian Burkhart (Lancaster, Pa.) served a corner kick to freshman Ryan Modzeleski (Cazenovia, N.Y.) who drilled his shot that deflected off a Seahawk and eluding Michael Payan (Fort Lee, N.J.).

Gordon (8-6-1, 4-2-1 CCC) had an 8-1 advantage in corner kicks through the first 45 minutes, and ended with an 11-7 edge. Salve Regina racked up three corners in the second overtime, while the Scots were whistled for four fouls.

With the tie (their third of the season and second in conference play), the Seahawks remain undefeated on the season, but still trail the Gulls of Endicott College in the league standings. The Seahawks face Nichols College to close out the regular season on Wednesday. Gordon is at Curry College on Tuesday.
