Three Stars of the Game

2 – Salve Regina junior Matt D'Amore (Duxbury, Mass.) - stopped 18 of 23 shots to earn the win.
3 – Emmanuel senior Tony Cibelli (Westboro, Mass.) - scored two goals, both in the final two minutes to draw the Saints within one score.

Key Stat of the Game
The Seahawks man-down defense was outstanding, holding the saints to 1-for-11 with the man advantage.

Turning Point
The Seahawks led 3-0 late in the second quarter but had dodged six man-up opportunities for the Saints. In the final seconds of the half, Nick LoCicero fired the ball from midfield to Andrew Fera in front of the net, and he buried a shot at the Buzzer to give the Seahawks a 4-0 lead at half. Fera would add his fourth of the day midway through the third for a 5-0 Seahawks lead. The Saints outscored the Seahawks 5-3 the rest of the way but the deficit proved to big to overcome.

Quick Hits

  • Trailing 6-3 with three minutes left the Saints finally cashed in on the man-up when Tony Cibelli snapped a shot from the wing past D'Amore to make it a two score game with 2:10 left. The Seahawks won the next draw and looked to milk clock then drew a penalty to go man-up. The Saints pulled their goalie to try and force a turnover, but Zach Makoske (Shoreham, N.Y.) scored for the Seahawks  on the empty net to end the suspense.
  • Charlie Moran (Maitland, Fla.) scored twice in the third quarter, and Donnie Litzelman (Stratham, N.H.) added a goal in the fourth to round out the scoring for the Saints.
  • The Seahawks outshot the Saints 40-26 in the game.
