NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University recent graduate Zackary Moreau (Marstons Mills, Mass.) earned the title of National Collegiate Rugby Scholar just three months after he and his teammates captured the national championship in the National Small College Rugby Organization (NSCRO) tournament in May.

MIDDLETOWN, R.I. – The Salve Regina University men’s lacrosse team was defeated by the University of New England by a final score of 9-7 during Senior Day at Gaudet Field on Saturday evening. The loss drops the Seahawks to 1-6 on the season, while the Nor’easters improve to 9-7 overall.

BRISTOL, R.I. – The Salve Regina University men's lacrosse team fell behind early and never recovered, dropping an 18-6 decision to Roger Williams University on Wednesday during a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) game for the Quahog Cup at Bayside Field. With the win, RWU improves their record to 6-4 overall and 3-0 in CCC play. Salve Regina’s record drops to 1-2 overall and 0-1 in CCC play.

MIDDLETOWN, R.I. – In his first collegiate game, freshman Beau Bennardo scored a game-high five goals to help lead the Salve Regina University men’s lacrosse team to a 14-11 victory over Salem State University during the Seahawks’ season opener at Gaudet Field on Saturday afternoon. The Seahawks improve to 1-0 win the victory, while the Vikings fall to 0-2 on the young season.

The Seahawks will play four teams which have been ranked in the Inside Lacrosse Face-Off Yearbook's Top 20 Poll over the past two seasons.

The team returns 15 student-athletes from last years roster and welcomes 16 newcomers to the ball club. The 2012 Seahawks' schedule includes some of the finest Division III teams in New England.
