Three Seahawks named AHCA Academic All-Stars
The American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) is once again recognizing varsity ice hockey players who compiled exceptional results in the classroom during the 2019-20 season with the announcement of the fourth annual Krampade All-Star Scholars.
Due to the effects of Covid-19 on actual grades in the spring, the AHCA adopted revised criteria for this year's honorees. To qualify, a student-athlete must have attained a 3.75 GPA for the fall semester and participated in 40% of their school's games.
Salve Regina had three men's ice hockey players qualify for the honor.
- Paul Boutoussov, Junior, Business Administration
- Vincenzo Renda, Junior, Biology
- Louis-Felix St. Jean, Sophomore, Business Administration
Quote from head coach Zech Klann: "I am very pleased for Paul, Vince and Louis and the acknowledgement of their accomplishments in the classroom. It is not easy to balance academics and being a NCAA athlete. These three have a strong work ethic on and off the ice. To be honored with the AHCA Academic All-Star award is a high achievement that is a testament to their fortitude and strong character. I am very proud that we have three athletes who are being recognized with this Academic All-Star award."
