Eruzione, Renda garner All-CCC accolades

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) announced its 2019-20 Men's Ice Hockey All-Conference Teams and major award winners Tuesday afternoon. There were nineteen All-Conference student-athletes representing six of the eight conference schools. CCC Regular-Season Champion No. 7 University of New England had the most selections with five honorees.

The Nor'easters Ryan Bloom (Northville, Mich.) was recognized for his excellence on the ice and off it by being named both the Player of the Year and the CCC Scholar-Athlete. A pair of Endicott Gulls took home the other major awards with sophomore goaltender Conor O'Brien (Pinellas Park, Fla.) being named Goaltender of the Year and Zach Mazur garnering Rookie of the Year honors. Their coach R.J. Tolan was voted the CCC Coach of the Year for the second time in his career and Curry took home the Team Sportsmanship award.

Voting for the All-CCC Teams and major awards was conducted by the nine CCC men's ice hockey head coaches following the conclusion of the regular season.

Junior defenseman Vincenzo Renda (Wesmount, Quebec) earned second team All-CCC honors, while fellow junior and forward Danny Eruzione (Winthrop, Mass.) was named to the third team All-CCC. Both have made the All-CCC squad in each of their first three seasons at Salve Regina.

Renda (2g-12a-14p) ranked third in the CC for defensemen scoring. Eruzione (7g-20-a-27p) led the Seahawks in scoring. Eruzione is the Seahawks all-time leader in career assists (70). Eruzione ranks second all-time in career scoring (100 points) and is six points away from setting a new program record. Eruzione was nominated as a semifinalist for the Joe Concannon award given to the best American-born hockey player in New England.
