Summary
PORTSMOUTH, R.I. - After surrendering the lead late in the third period, Jason Kalinowski (Stamford, Conn.) scored for visiting Endicott College with 24.2 seconds remaining to top the Salve Regina University men's ice hockey team 2-1 in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action.

Series and Streaks
The Seahawks still own an 8-5 record in the all-time series, but have dropped three in a row to the Gulls.

Three Stars of the Game

  1. Endicott graduate student Jason Kalinowski scored the game-winning goal on a major power-play with 24.2 seconds remaining in regulation.
  2. Salve Regina sophomore George Sennott (North Andover, Mass.) scored short-handed 18 seconds into a major power play for the Gulls to tie the game 1-1 in the third.
  3. Endicott sophomore Conor O'Brien (Pinellas Park, Fla.) made 27 saves while allowing the lone goal to improve to 16-5-0 in net for the Gulls.

Turning Point
Trailing 1-0, things looked dire for the Seahakws when they were assessed a major penalty with 4:03 left in the third  effectively rendering the Seahawks short-handed the remainder of the period while trying to stage a comeback. Stunningly, just 18 seconds into the power play for the Gulls, George Sennott scored short-handed for the Seahawks to tie the game. Sennott corralled a deflected puck, displayed breakaway speed to streak down the ice, and beat the Gulls netminder to even the game. Despite tying the game the Seahawks were not out of the woods just yet, they still had to kill of the major penalty. With just 24 seconds left in regulation Kalinowski was able to tuck home a loose puck near the crease to give the Gulls back the lead. Salve Regina pulled the goalie for the final seconds, but could not get a shot on goal.

Key Stat
Salve Regina went 0-for-3 on the power play while holding Endicott to 1-for-8 and scored a short-handed goal.
