Bio

Alick Furtick returns for his ninth season as assistant men's basketball coach at Salve Regina University. Coach Furtick works primarily with the post players, recruits potential student-athletes and coordinates community outreach, among other duties.

He received his bachelor’s degree in American History from Salve Regina in 2002. A two-time All-Commonwealth Coast Conference selection, Furtick ranks No. 1 all-time  at Salve Regina in blocked shots (112) and field goal percentage (63.0 percent), despite playing just two seasons after arriving as a transfer student.

In his first year as a Seahawk in 1999-2000, Furtick helped lead the team to 18 wins and a spot in the CCC Semifinal, while the squad earned the New England Basketball Coaches Association Most Improved Team Award.

In 2001 he was chosen to participate in the New England Senior Division III All-Star Game.

Prior to attending Salve Regina, Furtick received his associate's degree in Early Childhood Education from Mitchell College in May of 1999. He was a two-year member of the men's basketball team at Mitchell.

Currently Furtick works as a behavior specialist and resides in Groton, Conn.
