Seven on the NABC Honors Court for the Seahawks

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Tuesday, July 20, 2021) -- The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) today announced the 2020-21 NABC Honors Court, recognizing more than 1,350 men's collegiate basketball student-athletes who excelled in academics during the past season. Salve Regina University men's basketball has once again earned the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award and the Seahawks had seven players qualify for the NABC Honors Court.

NEWPORT, R.I. (September 17, 2020) -- Earlier today, the NCAA enacted legislation to make Election Day free of practice and competition for Division I student-athletes. For the Seahawks as a member of NCAA Division III and the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), the decision not to play had already been made in July. Once members of the Salve Regina Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) learned of the actions at Division I to include no practice on Nov. 3, they replied, "Us, too!"
