The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) also announced the sixth annual Team Academic Excellence Awards, created by the NABC Committee on Academics. These awards, earned by more than 175 colleges and universities, recognize outstanding academic achievement by a team with a cumulative grade point average(GPA) of 3.0 or better for the 2015-16 season. The Seahawks have earned this award the past three seasons.

"The NABC Honors Court recognition is a special benchmark for Tyler, Andrew and Kevin. They are achieving a high level of academic success at a very challenging institution, which bodes well for their future. The NABC Team Academic Excellence Award is an outstanding honor and is the result of the dedication all of our players have put into their academic pursuits. Our group has prioritized the mission of Salve Regina University within the community, on the court, and in the classroom."
