NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University men's basketball senior Nicholas Bates (Danvers, Mass.) and junior Rodney Morton (Malden, Mass.), both captains, were named to the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) All-CCC teams in voting by the league's coaches at the end of the regular season.

"Our staff and players are pleased to see Nick Bates and Rodney Morton have their efforts recognized by the CCC coaches," 15th-year head coach Sean Foster commented.

Bates returns to the second team all-league for the second consecutive season. He ranks second in the league in rebounds per game (11.8) and is one of only two CCC players averaging a double-double this season. The fourth-year forward averages 17.5 points per game and eclipsed the 1,000-point milestone in a January game at Wentworth Institute of Technology. He currently ranks 10th on the school's all-time scoring list for men's basketball (1,155 career points).

Morton earns his first selection to an all-conference squad and currently leads the Seahawks in scoring (19.3 ppg) to rank fourth in the league. His minutes per game in CCC contests (34.6) rank second in the league. Morton was the team's high scorer in 14 games during the regular season, and brings an 835 career point total into postseason play.

Salve Regina (8-16, 6-12 CCC) earned the conference's seventh seed and will play at Endicott College on Tuesday (8 p.m.).
