WENHAM, Mass.—Freshman Jake Haar (Huntington Beach, Calif.) hit a runner in the lane with 7.9 seconds to lift Gordon to a 63-61 win over Salve Regina at the Bennett Center on Saturday afternoon. The Fighting Scots scored the final nine points of the game to win their fourth straight game in the Commonwealth Coast Conference.

Both teams started especially slow on the offensive end as Salve held a 4-2 lead after six minutes of play. Buckets on two consecutive possessions by Bryce Boggs (Hyde Park, Mass.) and Nicholas Bates (Danvers, Mass.) increased the Seahawk lead to 8-2 as the Scots continued to struggle.

Two three's by Haar in a three-minute span allowed the Fighting Scots to crawl all the way back to their first lead of the game at 16-14. However, Salve countered back with a pair of triples of its own to reclaim the advantage at 20-16 with 7:51 to go in the first.

The next five minutes was full of back-and-forth action until Gordon took a 31-28 lead when Jaren Yang (San Francisco, Calif.) hit a kick-out three on pass from Garrisson Duvivier (Brockton, Mass.). The Fighting Scots held onto a 34-30 advantage after the first half.

Gordon held a six-point edge three times in the second half, the last of which came with just over 11 minutes to go in regulation.

Boggs became a one-man wrecking crew for the Seahawks over the final quarter of the game, scoring 13 of the team's final 17 points. While Boggs was putting it in the hoop, Gordon endured another lengthy cold stretch on offense and found themselves suddenly down by seven points with under three minutes remaining.

Haar hit his third three of the game on a second-chance opportunity to make it a 61-57 score. Four free throws by Duvivier and Richie Armand (Hempstead, N.Y.) tied the game at 61 all with 58 seconds on the clock.

Gordon forced the Seahawks into a tough shot on their next possession, leading to Haar's heroics in the waning seconds. The Scots survived two in-bounds plays in the final moments to take a season sweep of the Seahawks.
