PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Salve Regina University junior Ashley Cody (Pawling, N.Y.) tied a school record with five goals in a 9-4 Seahawk victory over Johnson & Wales University in non-league field hockey action at Scotts Miracle Gro Field Thursday night in Providence.

Cody also assisted on an Eliza Timms (Agawam, Mass.) goal, the first score of the second half, and her total points (11) sets a new Seahawk individual game record, besting the previous mark (10) set by her sister, Amber, last season at Gordon College (10/7/17), and Caroline Galligan versus University of New England (10/30/06). Both previous high point marks were set by seniors; Ashley Cody has the most goals scored by a Seahawk junior.

She also surpassed the single-season highs of 30 goals and 68 points, both set by Abigail Tepper in 2015, as Cody now has school records with 33 goals and 77 points on the season. Both marks lead the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) which had selected Cody as its Offensive Player of the Week (Oct. 8-14).

In addition to Cody's first-half hat trick, Vanessa Frost (North Attleboro, Mass.) scored her fifth goal of the season as Salve Regina (8-8) led 4-0 at the break.

Timms followed Cody's fourth goal of the game with her second tally, and 16th of the season, good for second on the Seahawks in 2018. Cody's fifth goal made the score 8-0 before the Wildcats (3-10) scored two times. Sophomore Tori Bickel (Harleysville, Pa.) finished the scoring for Salve Regina with her ninth of the season.

Senior Ally Daly (Peabody, Mass.) made five saves in 56 minutes and freshman Olivia Butler (Sandy Hook, Conn.) made one stop in the final 14 minutes.
