Bio

Greg DeLade begins his third season as the Defensive Coordinator for the Salve Regina football team in 2023.

DeLade was hired as the Special Team Coordinator/Linebackers coach in 2019 after serving four years as an assistant coach at his alma mater Muhlenberg College. In his first year with the Seahawks, the defense finished second in the CCC in yards per game and scoring defense. He also coached the CCC Defensive Player of the Year. 

DeLade was promoted to Defensive Coordinator in 2020. In his two seasons as defensive coordinator, the Seahawks continue to be a among the leaders in the CCC in points and yards per game. He has also coached 11 All-conference players.

At Muhlenberg, DeLade helped the Mules to a 36-10 (29-7 Centennial) record in his four years, including a Centennial Conference Co-Championship and trip to the NCAA "Elite 8" in 2018. The Mules finished 1st in total defense (2015-16, 2018), rush defense (2015-18), and scoring defense (2016-17). DeLade coached 24 All-Conference on the defensive side of the ball, inlcuding a the 2018 Centennial Defensive Player of the Year, South Region Player of the Year and first-team All-American.

During his playing days with the Mules (2011-14), DeLade was named All-Centennial Conference three times, earning first-team honors his final two seasons, and two time All-ECAC South. He participated in the 2014 DIII Senior Class All-star game and was named to Muhlenberg's All-Decade first team in 2020. DeLade played in 43 games at defensive line, starting 34, and recorded 145 tacklesm including 37.5 for loss and 20 sacks. He also forced four fumbles, had four fumble recoveries and two interceptions. DeLade graduated in 2015 with a business administration degree.

A native of Chatham, NJ, DeLade currently resides in Newport with his wife Shauna, head softball coach for the Seahawks.
