SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (April 29, 2019) -- The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) has selected Salve Regina University freshman Sean O'Malley (Darien, Conn.) as its rookie of the week for baseball (April 22-28).

Rookie of the Week - O'Malley batted .571 (8-for-14) with one double, two home runs, and eight RBI, while slugging 1.071 in the Seahawks' 3-1 week. He drove in two runs in each of Salve's four games. O'Malley opened the week with a 4-for-4 effort and a five-hit performance in a doubleheader sweep of Nichols. He closed out the week by homering in both ends of a split with Curry.

Salve Regina (19-14, 8-6 CCC) earned the No. 4 seed in the upcoming postseason and will host No. 5 Nichols College (2017, 6-8 CCC) on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. on Reynolds Field. The Seahawks swept the Bison last week on the same field.
