CCC BASEBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – No. 4 seed Endicott and No. 6 seed Gordon both won their elimination games on Sunday, May 6 to remain in the tournament and advance to the CCC Pod Finals, which will take place Monday, May 7.

The Gulls came away with a 13-7 win over No. 5 seed Wentworth, while the Fighting Scots defeated No. 2 seed Roger Williams, 7-3.

Endicott advances to play No. 1 seed Salve Regina at 3:30 p.m. needing two wins to knock out the undefeated Seahawks. If the Gulls win the game, a deciding game will be played on Tuesday to determine which member of the pod advances to the CCC Baseball Championship Series next weekend.

Gordon will also play tomorrow against third-seeded Western New England at noon. The Golden Bears will serve as host as the undefeated team in its pod. In this pod, the "if necessary game" will be played later Monday afternoon if the Fighting Scots win the first game.

The two pod winners will continue on to the best-of-three CCC Championship Series, which is scheduled to take place on Friday-Saturday, May 11-12 at the higher seed. One game will be played on Friday with the second game and "if necessary" game scheduled for Saturday. While all games will be played at the higher seed's home field, the lower seed will be the "home" team in the first game on Saturday and bat second.

The winner of the CCC Championship Series will be named the CCC Tournament Champion and will earn the league's automatic qualifier into the 2018 NCAA Division III Baseball Championship Tournament.
