Jody Mooradian, the Senior Associate Athletics Director/Senior Woman Administrator (SWA) at Boston College, was named director of athletics at Salve Regina, effective Jan. 4, 2016.

During her 12 years at Boston College, Mooradian helped manage the Division I athletics program encompassing 750 student athletes and a $68 million budget across 31 sports. Her student athletes boast a 97 percent graduation rate. She brings to Salve Regina extensive experience in strategic planning, alumni engagement, development, marketing, institutional diversity, capital projects and more.

Among her many duties at BC, she served as a member of the senior management team for the Division I FBS (Football Bowl Subdivision) Athletic Program in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC).

Voted a Top 10 Senior Woman Administrator in the NCAA by College AD, Mooradian was praised for her extensive compliance background and longstanding efforts to put programs in place to improve the student athlete experience. She most recently oversaw eight sports and many internal departments, with service to several NCAA, NACDA and ACC committees. The student athlete development program she created was ranked as the #1 such program in NCAA Division I athletics last year.

Mooradian has a juris doctorate from Widener University (Delaware School of Law) and a bachelor’s degree from the University of New Hampshire. A former New Hampshire State Representative, she worked as in-house counsel for a major insurance company and as a litigator in a large private firm before shifting her career focus to college athletics.

She was appointed compliance assistant at UCLA in 1993, where she supported all areas of its NCAA/Pac-10 compliance, particularly Title IX review. Soon after, she was named Director of Athletics at Edinboro University, where she managed the Division II athletics program until 1997.

Prior to her arrival at BC in 2003, Mooradian served as Senior Associate Athletics Director, Senior Woman Administrator (SWA) and Interim Director of Athletics at Northeastern University. In addition to managing all internal operations for the university’s Division I FCS (Football Championship Subdivision) athletic program, she handled Office of Civil Rights complaints, developed equity and diversity plans, created strategic and core values plans, and served as liaison to Northeastern’s offices of Student Affairs and Student-Athlete Support Services.

In addition to serving on numerous Atlantic Coast Conference committees, Mooradian is Chair of the NCAA’s Olympic Sports Liaison Committee and is a past chairman of its Women’s Rowing Committee. She has also served on the NCAA Volleyball Committee and as a member of the NCAA Certification Peer Review Team.

She has served on the board of directors for the National Athletic Directors Association, the Collegiate Women’s Sports Award, the College Athletics and the Law; Jossey-Bass Higher Education Newsletter and as a member of the National Association of Collegiate Women Administrators.
