NEWPORT, R.I. – Salve Regina University has landed 53 student-athletes on the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) 2019 Fall Academic All-Conference Team, announced by Commissioner Gregg M. Kaye.

The Academic All-Conference Team consists of any starter or significant reserve who has attained at least sophomore status at start of competition and has maintained an overall minimum GPA of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00. This is the sixth time the honor has been separated into two seasons - fall and spring. In total, 446 student-athletes representing all nine member institutions were selected for the Fall Academic All-Conference Team - men's and women's cross country, field hockey, men's and women's soccer, women's tennis, and women's volleyball.

Included among the honorees were the nine CCC Scholar-Athlete award winners in their respective sports with women's tennis and women's volleyball each having two student-athletes bestowed the honor. In tennis, Nichols' Megan Nathanson (Scarborough, Maine) was one selection and Western New England's Morgan Schrader (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) was the other. Curry's Shea Mathews (Concord, N.H.) and the University of New England's Katie Marsh (Melbourne, Australia) were the two volleyball honorees. In cross country, Salve Regina's Riley Rancourt (Warren, R.I.) and Gordon's Bridget Mellon (Camden, Maine) were the men's and women's award winners, respectively. Endicott claimed both soccer CCC Scholar-Athlete honors with Evan Couchot (Mason, Ohio) winning on the men's side, and Elizabeth Masucci (Norwell, Mass.) being recognized for the women. Erin Kelley (Dighton, Mass.) from Nichols won the award in field hockey.

There were also 11 major award winners who earned spots on the fall Academic All-Conference list with four of them representing the Gulls. Kristen McCarthy (Danvers, Mass.) was the field hockey Offensive Player of the Year for the second year in a row, while Couchot earned the same award in men's soccer. Two Endicott volleyball major award winners were also recognized with Player of the Year Zoey Gifford (Natick, Mass.) and Libero of the Year Mackenzie Kennedy (Andover, Mass.) both being honored. Leah Rogoz (Woodridge, Ill.) from Wentworth, who was also named volleyball Player of the Year, also made this fall's Academic All-Conference Team. UNE was the only other school to land multiple major award winners on the Academic All-Conference list with men's cross country Runner of the Year Jake Hickey (Winthrop, Maine) and women's soccer Defensive Player of the Year Jenna Pannone (Prospect, Conn.) both earning spots. Women's soccer Offensive Player of the Year Lexi Potter (South Glens Falls, N.Y.) from Gordon, men's soccer Defensive Player of the Year Casey Kelly (Waldrick, N.J.) from Salve Regina, women's tennis Player of the Year Amarie Settiwongse (Bangkok, Thailand) from Nichols, and women's cross country Runner of the Year Sarah Mawdsley (Sandy Hook, Conn.) from Roger Williams were all also Academic All-Conference team members.

In addition to the 53 Seahawks, 23 more earned a similar honor with identical qualifications as members of the Salve Regina football team.

Each of the major award winners was also First Team All-CCC members. Overall there were 54 Academic All-CCC members who were also All-CCC First Teamers. Additionally, 29 Second Team and 16 Third Team performers were honored.
