Habershaw Stewardship Award


Presented to the senior student-athlete who has earned the respect of fellow athletes, coaches, and administration for continually demonstrating those qualities associated with good sportsmanship (i.e. fair play, positive attitude, cooperation). In 2018, athletic director Jody Mooradian recognized the 25 years of service from sports information director Ed Habershaw and renamed the award in his honor.

Brother Michael Reynolds Award


Presented to a student-athlete who demonstrates a commitment to academic and athletic excellence and who has contributed to the overall development of the athletic program. Named in honor of Brother Michael Reynolds who was the school's athletic director when Salve Regina ushered in the NCAA Division III era. Beginning in 2013, this award will be for male student only while the Meghan Strathman Award will recognize a female honoree. Prior to 1996, this award had been designated for a member of the cross country or track & field program.

Meghan E. Strathman '03 Award


Presented to a student-athlete who demonstrates a commitment to academics and athletics and is actively involved in athletic department leadership opportunities, community service and other campus activities. Named in honor of Meghan E. Strathman '03 who passed away tragically in a car accident one month before her graduation. Strathman had been an RA, student-athlete, student-teacher, and an active member of the department's student athlete advisory committee. Beginning in 2013, this award will be for female student only while the Brother Reynolds Award will recognize a male honoree.

RIAIAW Distinguished Student Athlete Award



The Distinguished Student-Athlete Award is presented to one female athlete from each of the state's nine collegiate institutions. The criteria for the RIAIAW Distinguished Athlete of the Year Award has three key components. The honoree must possess leadership qualities. She must stand as a role model to others, displaying such coveted assets as perseverance, commitment, ethical behavior and academic success. She must enjoy an above average degree of physical talent.

CoSIDA began this program in the 1950s, and since then, has honored thousands of deserving student-athletes from numerous sports and across all divisions with these elite Academic All-America® scholar-athlete honors.

Student-athletes are nominated by current CoSIDA members. Voting for Academic All-District™ (First, Second and possible Third Team members are named) is done by current CoSIDA members. Those who obtain First Team All-District status move onto the national Academic All-America® ballot; these national awards (First Team, Second Team, Third Team for each sport category) are voted upon by Academic All-America® Committee members and current CoSIDA Board of Directors.
