CCC Rookie of the Week: Christina Moran

NEWPORT, R.I. - The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) has selected Salve Regina University freshman Christina Moran (Oceanside, N.Y.) as its Rookie of the Week for women's cross country (Sept. 10-16).

Rookie of the Week - Moran finished 99th of 318 runners at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational clocking a time of 20:28.9 in the 5-kilometer race and helping Salve Regina place 13th overall out of 45 teams with a score of 467.

"Chrissy has been a really pleasant surprise," says Seahawk head coach Rob McGuinness. "She has stepped right into a contributing role on the varsity squad, and I can see her continuing her development for not just this year but every year. A well-deserved honor for her."

The Seahawks race at Gordon College in Wenham, Mass., on Saturday, Sept. 22 (10:45 a.m.).
