Seahawks win academic honors from USTFCCCA

The Salve Regina men’s and women’s cross country teams were recognized as All-Academic Teams by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. Teams must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.1 or better to qualify for the USTFCCCA award.

WATERFORD, Conn. – Junior Amy Irving (Bohemia, N.Y.) shattered the Salve Regina University record for 6,000 meters on Saturday, leading the Seahawks to a record-setting day in the Connecticut College Invitational at Harkness State Park.

BRISTOL, R.I. – Senior Shannon Holden (Hingham, Mass.) led Salve Regina to a third-place finish in the Roger Williams Invitational at Colt State Park on Saturday. Holden finished inside the top 20 in the field of 196 to score as the Seahawks’ No. 1 runner for the first time in her career.
