Bio

Lauren Parsons Coach Parsons, a native of Statesville, N.C., enters her seventh season as the head coach of women's volleyball at Salve Regina University.

The Seahawks have made the playoffs in each of Parsons previous six seasons, reaching the CCC Championship in 2012 and 2014. The Seahawks went on to win the 2014 ECAC tournament, defeating conference rival Endicott 3-0.

Parsons was an assistant coach for the Seahawks during the 2011 campaign, helping to guide the team to a then-program record 16 wins, while also earning its first-ever ECAC Championship tournament berth.

In her first season as head coach, Parsons' club eclipsed the previous year's mark with 18 wins which included a first-ever trip to the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) final and then a victory in the first-round of the 2012 ECAC Divison III New England Championships.

She followed that campaign with another record-setting season in 2013. A 26-5 (.839) overall mark included winning the Rhody Classic and a victory over a nationally-ranked team. Parsons was named the CCC Coach of the Year while also taking the Seahawks to their third straight ECAC appearance and first-ever as the No. 1 seed.

A 2007 graduate of Averett University in Danville, Va., Parsons earned a degree in business marketing. She was a four year member of the volleyball team and team captain.  As a setter and libero, she earned All USA South Conference awards (2004,2005,2006), all-tournament team (2004, 2006), and second team all-state (2004).

Parsons won two conference championships with the Cougars (2003, 2006) and made two appearances in the NCAA Tournament in San Antonio, Texas (as a freshman and then a senior). She was an assistant volleyball coach at McDaniel College in Westminster, Md., during the 2008 season.
