Lee leads Seahawks attack in victory

WELLESLEY, Mass. - Graduate student outside hitter Madison Lee (Dover, Fla.) posted a match-high 16 kills to lead the Salve Regina University women's volleyball team to a 3-1 (25-19, 25-21, 18-25, 25-20) victory over Wellesley University in non-conference action. Thursday evening.

Series and Streaks: This was the first-ever meeting between the teams.

NOTEWORTHY:

  • Lee knocked in 16 kills on 34 swings with just four errors for a .343 kill percentage to lead all scorers while adding 12 digs for a double-double.
  • Kate Murphy grabbed a team-high 22 digs.
  • Sydney Ramsey totalled a match-high five assisted blocks.
  • Sienna DeCicco logged 41 assists to pace the Seahawks offense.

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING:

"It was great to end our non-conference schedule with a win. After controlling the first two sets, Wellesley was able to stay in it and make adjustments and challenge us the rest of the way. It's was great from a mental toughness standpoint to get those challenging reps and be able to figure out a way to win. We'll be looking to carry all those lessons from our non-conference opponents into the final stretch of the season and into the CCC Tournament!" - head coach Sebastian Noordzy.
