NEWPORT, R.I. - Behind a career-high 16 kills from junior Andee Bender (Lebanon, Conn.) the Salve Regina University women's volleyball team topped visiting Eastern Nazarene College 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-20) in non-conference action Thursday evening.

  2. Salve Regina sophomore Nicole Karabaich (Greenlawn, N.Y.) totaled nine kills, 12 digs, and a match-high five service aces.
  3. Salve Regina senior Annie Donahue (Chelmsford, Mass.) struck at an efficient .625 clip for 10 kills.

Turning Point
The Lions led to begin each set but were quickly overtaken by long runs from the Seahawks. A 9-3 run in the first, 6-0 run in the second, and an 11-2 run in the third helped put the Seahawks back in front of each of those sets. The Seahawks wouldn't relinquish the lead in any of the three sets en route to the sweep.

  • Meredith Arancio (Oradell, N.J.) led all players with 22 assists while teammate Olivia Noonan (Rochester, N.H.) chipped in 10 helpers.
