NEWPORT, R.I. - The Salve Regina University women's volleyball team earns the No. 3 seed in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championships and travels to play No. 2 Wentworth in the semifinals.

The Salve Regina University women's volleyball swept Western New England in the CCC quarterfinals.

SEAHAWKS NOTES FROM THE NEST

  • The Seahawks' 21 wins so far this season is the third most in program history.
  • The Seahawks have made the postseason every season under seventh-year head coach Lauren Parsons.
  • The Seahawks have never won a conference title and have twice been CCC Tournament runners-up (2012, 2014).
  • Madison Lee leads the Seahawks in kills (247) and ranks seventh in the CCC.
  • Erin Proctor ranks fourth in the CCC in assists (740) and second in service aces (51).
  • Annie Donahue ranks fourth in the CCC for blocks (58).
  • Megan Parham ranks seventh in the CCC in digs (304). This season she became the seventh player in Seahawks program history to surpass 1,000 career digs despite missing her entire junior season.
  • Kendall Wilcox was name the CCC Senior Scholar Athlete while Annie Donahue took home first team All-CCC honors for the third straight season.
  • Cassidy Trabilcy earned second team All-CCC and Nicole Karabaich and Erin Proctor each got named to the third team.

LEOPARD NEWS

  • 3rd Straight CCC Tournament Berth.
  • The Leopards leaned on many of their upperclassmen this season to secure their first-ever Commonwealth Coast Conference regular season title, finishing the season with a program best 7-1 record. in league play. The Leopards share a piece of the regular season title with Endicott, who beat out Wentworth in the head-to-head matchup, putting Wentworth at the No. 2 seed for the tournament.
  • Three juniors hit career milestones on the journey to the regular season title - as Leah Rogoz reached 1,000 points, Lillie Clark hit 1,000 digs, and Katie Clouse registered her 1,000th career assist. Maddy Tomastik is also on pace to reach 1,000 assist, needing 26 heading into the postseason.
  • Head coach Evin Giglio also enjoyed a milestone of his own, and coached to his 100th win with the Wentworth women's volleyball program on September 8th. The 2018 season, which now stands at 22-4, is the third straight 20-win season for Giglio and the Leopards.
  • Wentworth has never won a conference title and has never appeared in a conference title match.

INSIDE THE SERIES
The Seahawks own a 14-6 record versus the Leopards all-time, however the Leopards defeated the Seahawks in five sets earlier this season. The Seahawks are 2-0 versus the Leopards in the playoffs.
