NEWPORT, R.I. – The Salve Regina University women's volleyball team travels to face Endicott College in the semifinals of the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) playoffs.

LAST TIME OUT
The Seahawks rallied from a 1-0 deficit to win three straight sets and take a 3-1 (25-27, 25-19, 26-24, 25-14) victory over the University of New England in the CCC quarterfinals.

SEAHAWKS NOTES FROM THE NEST

  • The Seahawks are 9-1 in their last 10 matches and have won 12 of their last 13.
  • Annie Donahue leads the Seahawks with 303 kills this season (ranked 6th in the CCC) while also pacing the team with 68 total blocks (ranked 3rd in the CCC).
  • Samantha Salwa leads the Seahawks with 738 assists (ranked 3rd in the CCC) and leads the conference with 59 service aces.
  • Sydney Puffer (Kittery, Maine) has a team-high 300 digs.
  • Donahue, Salwa, and Samantha Higgins (Coventry, R.I.) were all named the All-CCC team. Donahue was named a first team Middle Blocker while Salwa and Higgins were both named to the third team as a Setter and Middle Blocker respectively.

GULLS GOODIES

  • The Gulls come into the CCC semifinal round after taking down Gordon 3-0 on Tuesday night.
  • Endicott was led by a 16 kill night from Emma Mancini (Lynnfield, Mass.), while Zoey Gifford (Natick, Mass.) produced a double-double with 36 assists and 13 digs.
  • With head coach Tim Byram at the helm, Endicott has produced a 359-264 (.577) record overall, including a conference record of 130-28 (.823), and five CCC titles in his 18 year tenure. The most recent CCC title came last season.
INSIDE THE SERIES
This will be the 24th meeting between the Seahawks and the Gulls. Endicott leads the all-time series 19-4 and has won the last four meetings. The Gulls and Seahawks met last year in the semifinals. Endicott won 3-0 to advance to the Championship.
