NEWPORT, R.I. – The Salve Regina University women's volleyball team has earned the No. 3 seed in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championships after completing a 3-0 sweep of University of New England on Saturday. The Seahawks host the No. 6 seed Nor'easters from Biddeford, Maine, on Tuesday, October 31 (7 p.m.) in a CCC quarterfinal.

LAST TIME OUT
The Seahawks swept the Nor'easters 3-0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-11) in the regular season finale this past Saturday. Senior Samantha Salwa (Ellington, Conn.) had a match-high 29 assists, match-high five aces, seven digs, two assisted blocks, and a kill. Meanwhile junior Cassidy Trabilcy (Phoenix, Ariz.) had a match-high nine kills along with 14 digs and sophomore Annie Donahue (Chelmsford, Mass.) had three solo blocks, one assisted block, and six kills.

SEAHAWKS NOTES FROM THE NEST
- After starting the season with 11 straight matches on the road this will be the Seahawks seventh home match in their last nine contests.
- The Seahawks are 9-1 in their last 10 matches and have won 11 of their last 12.
- Annie Donahue leads the Seahawks with 281 kills this season (ranked 7th in the CCC) while also pacing the team with 65 total blocks (ranked 3rd in the CCC).
- Samantha Salwa leads the Seahawks with 694 assists (ranked 4th in the CCC) and leads the conference with 56 service aces.
- Sydney Puffer (Kittery, Maine) had a team-high 283 digs during the regular season.
- Donahue, Salwa, and Samantha Higgins (Coventry, R.I.) were all named the All-CCC team. Donahue was named a first team Middle Blocker while Salwa and Higgins were both named to the third team as a Setter and Middle Blocker respectively.
NOR'EASTER NEWS
- The Nor'easters are 6-4 in their last 10 matches.
- Rene Roggenbuck (Goffstown, N.H.) led the Nor'easters with 204 kills this season while Katie Marsh (Melbourne, Australia) led the way defensively with 321 digs.
- Kristen Falcinelli (Silver Spring, Md.) was the team leader for assists with 401 (ranked 8th in the CCC) and Sydney Christiansen (Palatine, Ill.) tallied 326 assists (ranked 10th in the CCC).
- The Nor'easters are the only team with two players ranking in the top 10 for assists in the CCC.
- Marsh led the Nor'easters with 34 service aces.
INSIDE THE SERIES
Salve Regina leads the all-time series, 9-7, winning the last eight meetings including last Saturday on the Rodgers Recreation Center floor.
