The Salve Regina University women's volleyball team earned its sixth straight victory with a 3-0 (25-13, 25-19, 25-18) sweep of visiting Bridgewater State University in non-conference action Thursday evening.

Series and Streaks
This was the seventh meeting between the two teams. The Seahawks now own a 5-2 record in the series and have won five straight over the Bears.

Three Stars of the Match

  1. Salve Regina senior Samantha Salwa (Ellington, Conn.) had 33 assists, five kills, four digs, and an ace.
  2. Salve Regina freshman Andee Bender (Lebanon, Conn.) notched a match-high 11 kills while hitting at a .478 percent clip.
  3. Salve Regina junior Cassidy Trabilcy (Phoenix, Ariz.) recorded 10 kills and eight digs.

Key Stat of the Day
Despite attempting 17 more swings than the Bears (102 to 85) the Seahawks still hit at a .378 percent clip while the Bears swung for a .129 percentage.

Turning Point
The Bears trailed 2-0 in the match, but would not go quietly in the third, building a 14-10 lead in a tightly contested set. The Seahawks ramped things up though and closed the on a 15-4 run, completing the sweep.
