Women's Volleyball #5 - Seahawks celebrate several senior milestones (October 11, 2014)

NEWPORT, R.I. - Entering the 2014 season with six standout seniors, Salve Regina women's volleyball head coach Lauren Parsons knew several miletones were within reach for her talented class.

Dianna Tauro (Melrose, Mass.), who three times was named Libero of the Week and earned the Libero of the Year award from the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), became the fifth Seahawk all-time to reach the 1,000 dig milestone (September 17, 2014).

Nine days later Jennifer Duggan (Merrimack, N.H.) joined Tauro in the 1,000-dig club and four days after that the first-team All-CCC outside hitter became the first Seahawk to reach 1,000 kills (September 30, 2014).

Wearing No. 1 on her jersey and owning the No. 1 spot in all-time service aces (170) and assists (3,467), Taylor Violet (Tiverton, R.I.) has her name permanently etched in the school's record books. She had passed the previous record-holder in assists (Rachael Cirella '08 - 1,575 assists) in the final match of her sophomore season. While extending the record these past two seasons, Violet became the first Salve Regina volleyball player to amass 3,000 career assists during a tri-match sweep at Clark University against Worcester State University (October 11, 2014).

Duggan, Tauro, and Violet join fellow Seahawks Katelyn Beauregard (Dartmouth, Mass.), Tara Kuck (Huntington, N.Y.), and Erin McGloin (West Islip, N.Y.) as the winningest class in Seahawk history (83-44; .654).
