SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – As rain soaked the track, and the competitors, during the opening laps of the women’s 10,000 meter run at Springfield College on Friday night, Salve Regina senior Shannon Holden (Hingham, Mass.) shot a tentative glance toward her coach and teammates, who were stationed at the top of the first turn.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Salve Regina University senior Shannon Holden (Hingham, Mass.) ran the fastest 10,000m of her life and broke the school record formerly held by fellow senior nursing major Aubrey Palmquist (Bristol, Conn) by over half a minute, in the last race of Holden’s collegiate career.

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - Salve Regina University junior Tiffany Davila (Greenville, R.I.) and freshman Erin Gunther (Sayville, N.Y.) established new school records in the hammer throw and triple jump, respectively, while competing at Wesleyan University in the Elmer J. Swanson Invitational.

FITCHBURGH, Mass. - Salve Regina University freshman Alex Demeo (Burlington, Mass.) joins teammates Shannon Holden (Hingham, Mass.) and Victoria Varone (Providence, R.I.) as qualifiers for the New England Championships in the 10,000-meter race with her mark of 41:17.24 at the Eric Loeschner Invitational hosted by Fitchburg Stat University.
