Scots clip Seahawks

WENHAM, Mass. - Gordon hosted Salve Regina in Commonwealth Coast Conference play at the Brigham Athletic Complex and came away with an 8-1 victory.

The Fighting Scots (2-2, 1-1 CCC) went 5-1 in singles play and 3-0 in doubles play against the Seahawks (2-1, 1-1 CCC). In singles competition, Justine Hanson defeated Lauren Harvey 6-3, 2-6, 10-7 at the No. 1, Anne Carsey defeated Makenzie Sadler 6-2, 6-2 at the No. 2, Gabrielle Brucker defeated Abigail Burke 6-2, 6-1 at the No. 3, Kaelyn Hall defeated Laura Krick 6-3, 6-2 at the No. 4, Erin Stangel defeated Emily Ontiveros due to injury retirement, and Anna Mullane defeated Darcy Carlin 7-6, 6-1 at the No. 6.

In doubles competition, Hanson/Brucker defeated Harvey/Sadler 8-6 at the No. 1, Carsey/Hall defeated Burke/Carlin 8-0 at the No. 2, and Ontiveros/Mullane defeated Stangel/Godshalk 8-6 at the No. 3.

Gordon next travels to take on Curry in CCC action Sept. 22 at 12 p.m.; Salve Regina hosts Endicott College in its first home match of the season on Thursday (3:30 p.m.).
