NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University director of athletics Jody Mooradian bestowed dozens of awards to student-athletes and staff on Friday evening, including the department's female and male athletes of the year - senior Amber Cody (Pawling, N.Y.) of field hockey, and junior Blake Wojtala (Trenton, Mich.) of men's ice hockey.

NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University junior Darcy Carlin (Brewster, N.Y.) and freshman Laura Krick (Groton, Conn.) worked an 8-4 victory at second doubles, but visiting Regis College triumphed at Nos. 1 and 3 before taking the top four singles flights for a 6-3 win in non-conference women's tennis action in Newport.

NEWPORT, R.I. - In the United States April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM). The goal of SAAM is to raise public awareness about sexual violence and to educate communities on how to prevent it.

NEWPORT, R.I. – Salve Regina University has landed 54 student-athletes on the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) 2017 Fall Academic All-Conference Team, announced by Commissioner Gregg M. Kaye.

Salve Regina student athletes collected more than a quarter of the total donations during a conference-wide food drive.

NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University took two of three doubles, but Suffolk University scored singles wins at Nos. 1, 3, 5, and 6, to defeat the Seahawks, 5-4. Five different Seahawks won matches today, with Abigail Burke (Harwich, Mass.) successful in doubles and singles. Rams junior Elena Cisneros Garcia won the clinching match by outlasting Erin Stangel (Old Saybrook, Conn.) at No. 3 singles (7-5, 6-3).
