BEVERLY, Mass.—A little rain and a delayed start would not prevent Gordon women's tennis from celebrating Senior Night with a 9-0 win over Salve Regina on Saturday evening. The Fighting Scots rolled through doubles without giving up a game and kept up the intensity in singles action to win going away in the team's Commonwealth Coast Conference regular season finale at Bass River Tennis Club.

Gordon celebrated the four-year careers of Abby Caron (Bedford, N.H.) and Haley Bean (Trumbull, Conn.) to start the match and the two captains teamed up for the first point of the match at third doubles. The Fighting Scots got their second point of the match when Abbie Denney (Peoria, Ariz.) and Justine Hanson (Meadow Vista, Calif.) closed out their opponents 8-0 at the top flight. Kaelyn Hall (Sugar Land, Texas) and Maddie Berry (Paso Robles, Calif.) completed the doubles sweep at the second flight.

Gabby Brucker (Eleva, Wisc.) brought the Scots within a point of victory with a 6-0, 6-0 result over Sarah Kraus (Woodcliff Lake, N.J.) at sixth singles. Fellow sophomore Emily Leahy (Lake Zurich, Ill.) trumped Shealyn FitzPatrick (South Windsor, Conn.) at the fifth spot 6-0, 6-1 to clinch the match for Gordon.

Denney and Hanson both blanked their opponents in singles play at one and two. Caron, playing third singles, took down Taylor Amendola (Westbrook, Conn.) 6-2, 6-1, while Bean finished everything off with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at fourth singles.

Gordon has a full week off from competition before traveling to Manchester, N.H. for an early start with Saint Anselm. The Seahawks close out their CCC schedule on Tuesday with a trip down the road to Roger Williams.
