McLaughlin tallies two, Cote game-winner as Seahawks improve to 2-0-0 in conference play

DUDLEY, Mass. (September 28, 2019) -- Salve Regina University dropped Nichols College, 3-1, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) women's soccer action Saturday afternoon on the NC Soccer Field in Dudley, Massachusetts.

The Bison (8-2-0, 1-1-0 CCC) fell behind early after the Seahawks (6-4-1, 2-0-0 CCC) netted a goal in the 15th minute, credited to Meagan McLaughlin. Nichols went into the half down 1-0, before junior Abby Bassett tied the game at one goal apiece with her third goal of the season in the 48th minute.

The Seahawks came storming back with Carah Cote scoring the go-ahead goal and game winner in the 52nd minute, just four minutes after the Bison had tied the game. Salve Regina then added an insurance goal by Meagan McLaughlin in the 84th minute as they picked up their second conference win of the season.
