Salve Regina earns United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award

NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University women's soccer team has been announced as recipient of the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the previous (2017-18) academic year.

In order to qualify for the award, teams are required to record a cumulative team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher. Same academic requirements as always, but the organization has changed its name from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) a year ago.

"I'm very proud of our student-athletes' dedication to excellence in the classroom," says fourth-year head coach Jane Walsh. "Balancing the burden of both academic and athletic responsibilities at any level is a challenge. This national academic award proves we are focused on the team goal of academic superiority, and driven to reach said goal."
