QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene women's soccer team notched a 3-0 victory over Salve Regina in the final regular season match of the 2013 campaign Wednesday afternoon at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

The Lions finish the regular season with an 11-6-1 overall record and a 4-4-1 mark in the Commonwealth Coast Conference. The Seahawks conclude the fall with a 3-14-1 record to go with a 1-8-0 mark in league contests.

With the win, Eastern Nazarene secured its spot in the Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament for the third-consecutive season. The Lions clinched the No. 6 seed in the playoffs and will travel to take on third-seeded Gordon November 2 in a rematch of last year's semifinals.

The Lions netted the game's opening goal in the 32nd minute, claiming a 1-0 lead. Rookie Hannah Scahill (Quaker Hill, Conn.) buried her team-leading 12th score of the season, tucking a low shot into the right corner of the cage.Katherine Lawrence (Marlborough, Conn.) collected her team-high sixth assist of the fall on the play.

Eastern Nazarene generated 18 shots in the opening 45 minutes of play while limiting Salve Regina to three.

The hosts added a goal in the 67th minute to stretch their advantage to 2-0. Scahill followed up her own shot and tapped the rebound into an open net for her second tally of the game and 13th of the fall.

The Lions tacked on a score in the 89th minute to widen the gap to 3-0. Senior Abby Spitler (Gaithersburg, Md.) fired a left-footed shot just inside of the left post to net her fifth goal of the season. Scahill picked up her fourth assist of the year on Spitler's tally.

The home team posted 28 shots in the contest while the visitors registered five. The Lions held a 2-0 edge in corner kicks earned at the conclusion of the match.

Junior Savannah Sivert (Laytonsville, Md.) recorded three saves en route to earning her second victory and second clean sheet in goal for Eastern Nazarene. On the opposite end of the pitch, Carly Montgomery (Malverne, N.Y.) turned aside 12 shots between the pipes for Salve Regina.

The loss eliminates Salve Regina from postseason contention.
