Hawks remain unbeaten in CCC with win over Seahawks

MIDDLETOWN, R.I. (April 10, 2019) -- Roger Williams University women's lacrosse ran its streak to eight straight against Salve Regina University with a 19-7 decision in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) meeting at Gaudet Field on Wednesday night.

Senior Emily Stoeppel (Brookfield, Conn.) led all players with five goals and four assists. Two other Hawks had four goals apiece - Ashley Warren (Wilmington, Mass.) and Lauren Flahive (Foxboro, Mass.).

Salve Regina (5-4, 2-3 CCC) took a 3-1 lead in the sixth minute after goals from Stefanie Salisbury (Cranston, R.I.), Kaity Doherty (Portsmouth, R.I.), and Olivia Slysz (South Hadley, Mass.). Slysz, Doherty, and Nicole Smith (North Attleboro, Mass.) finished with two goals apiece for the Seahawks. Christina Myers (River Edge, N.J.) had 11 saves in the loss.

Roger Williams (9-3, 5-0 CCC) had seven saves from Lydia Nelson (Center Moriches, N.Y.). The Hawks are home for the Leopards on Saturday (12 p.m.) while the Seahawks travel to Biddeford, Maine, to face the Nor'easters.
